Tuesday, February 187:00—8:00 PMA Zoom Presentation
A Virtual Presentation,
In historic and modern Indigenous societies, women have always held positions of leadership and influence. Clan mothers, female chiefs, “Beloved Women,” and others were integral to decision making, governing and guidance.
This presentation will provide an overview of historic and contemporary Indigenous women’s leadership and will highlight the biographies of female Native leaders such as Cockacoeske, Nonhelema, Nacy Ward, Wilma Mankiller, Susan Shown Harjo, and Deb Haaland.
